Q: Is there a main hotel or central lodge at your property?
A: There is not one central building of accommodations at Cabin Bluff. There are no generic room numbers or hallways. Instead, our guests can stay in luxurious, yet rustic multiple bedroom cabins, each room with a private bath, nestled within a forest of tall timbers and under a canopy of stately live oak trees overlooking the scenic Cumberland River.
Q: Do you accept individual reservations, or only groups at Cabin Bluff?
A: We specialize in customer outings and corporate leadership retreats that allow us to focus all of our attention on just one group at a time, and provide an exclusive and private experience for each group. However, due to overwhelming requests from individuals or small families, we do set aside several "open dates", mostly in the spring and summer, for individual reservations.
Q: How can I make reservations on-line?
A: Because of the exclusivity of Cabin Bluff, we do not accept online reservations. Please call our main number at 912-729-5960 to discuss availability for your stay.
Q: Why can't I find pricing on your website?
A: For your convenience and ease of planning, our pricing is packaged to include accommodations, meals and activities and is determined by seasonality and the requirements of your group. Please call for availability and rates.
Q: How are meals served? Do you have restaurants on property?
A: Gourmet meals are served family style at various locations on Cabin Bluff so reservations are not necessary. Our Executive Chef has carefully selected and prepared every component of each meal, from appetizers to desserts, to complement one another. Careful consideration has been given to incorporate the use of our abundant supply of local seafood, wild game, and local vegetables, all prepared in a uniquely coastal-southern manner.
Q: When is hunting season?
A: Cabin Bluff has abundant wildlife populations and allows for hunting of deer, quail, turkey (fall & winter), and wild boar (year-round). We follow the Georgia Department of Natural Resources’ (GADNR) regulations and seasonality for hunting, which can be found at www.georgiawildlife.com/
Q: When is the best time for fishing?
A: The waterways around Cabin Bluff offer excellent fishing during all months of the year for off-shore, near-shore and sight/fly fishing. Summertime provides exceptional tarpon, cobia and spanish mackerel fishing near the coast, and redfish are a primary target for anglers in the fall. Our stocked ponds offer abundant freshwater fishing, and trout are caught regularly by guests after late nights around the fire pit, and served for breakfast the next morning.
Q: What type of licensing is required for hunting and fishing at Cabin Bluff?
A: Cabin Bluff holds a blanket license for fishing in our ponds, from our docks or while on our boats, so no additional fishing licenses are required. However, hunting licensing requirements are strictly followed according to GADNR regulations. Please secure the necessary hunting licenses well in advance of your visit on-line at www.georgiawildlife.com/
Q: What do I do with the meat after a successful hunt?
A: We will clean, prepare and package any game for traveling home on departure day.
Q: What connectivity is at Cabin Bluff? Will I be able to get a cell signal or connect through Wi-Fi?
A: Each bedroom is equipped with direct dial telephones. Cell service may not be available in some areas of Cabin Bluff. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available in guest rooms and most common areas.
Q: What do I need to bring with me?
A: We provide everything you need in the way of equipment from state of the art Beretta firearms and ammunition to top of the line rods, reels, tackle and bait. Should you prefer to bring your own firearm, we allow over/under and side by side models only. You are welcome to bring your own golf clubs, however we do have several rental sets available.
Q: How are weddings priced at Cabin Bluff?
A: Cabin Bluff is a beautiful and very special destination for weddings. We accept weddings April - September with a 3 night minimum buy-out of the entire facility, including the 20 sleeping rooms. You may estimate that pricing will begin at $45,000 for rental of the facility only (excluding coordination of the event, decor, officiant, floral, photography and entertainment).
Q: Is Cabin Bluff family friendly? What activities do you offer for children?
A: What a great place for a kid to be a kid! In addition to being a playground for the young-at-heart, we offer a fun, back-to-nature environment in an electronic game world. Children especially enjoy freshwater pond fishing and trout fishing from the dock, but there’s also playing bocce, swimming in the pool, hiking on the trails, hitting a few golf balls, playing tennis, corn hole, and basketball. But, the all-time favorite activity remains after-dinner s’mores at the firepit!
Q: Where is Cabin Bluff located? How do I get there?
A: Our secluded location along the Georgia coast provides the private retreat our guests desire, and the gated entrance to Cabin Bluff ensures that privacy is maintained. Most of our guests that are flying in prefer to fly commercially into Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), which is roughly 30 minutes away. Smaller airports are also available, if flying in by personal or charter plane. If arriving by car, exact directions will be provided once your group is confirmed.
